Why BanglaOCR instead of generic OCR tools?
Generic OCR tools treat Bangla as an afterthought. They stumble on যুক্তাক্ষর (conjunct characters), silently convert Bangla numerals to English, and fail completely on handwriting — which is exactly where Bangladesh's real documents live: filled bank forms, KYC files, insurance claims, land records and government applications.
BanglaOCR was built the other way around: Bangla first. Our handwriting model is trained on tens of thousands of real Bangla handwriting samples. It reads কবির হাসান as কবির হাসান — not as garbled Latin letters. It keeps ৳ amounts, Bangla dates and mixed-language forms intact, and every uncertain field is flagged rather than silently guessed.
